Ernesto Valverde believes his side have taken good strides with a victory against Juventus at the Camp Nou.

“We really value this win, especially in terms of the group’s placing,” Valverde told reporters.

“We’ve beaten the finalists of last season, conceding no goals and scoring three. These three points give us good sensations.

“We had a good game and caused them a few problems in the first half, but we had the necessary patience to play, win the ball back and attack them.”

Lionel Messi finally ended his goal scoring drought against Gigi Buffon with a brace.

“You never know when you can open the game, so you have to keep going.

“You have the feeling that when Leo gets the ball, something good could happen for us. Going 1-0 up was crucial, before half-time.”
